These past few months have been rough on all of us. A lot of things we’re familiar with and take for granted have changed overnight. But at the same time, I’ve been encouraged to see more people engaging with their families, their skills and hobbies, they’re friends over the internet, and even art and music. We live in a time where many of us are blessed to be able to continue working and communicating despite the craziness of the outside world. And for me, I’ve been able to use this extra time not spent driving around for gigs and school and work to work on a project I’ve been wanting to focus on for a long time.
I'm super excited to present the first episode of my new podcast project! With “The Autodidactic Musician,” I plan to release weekly Saturday episodes of 8-15 minutes discussing music in films and games, music theory, 20th century avantgarde works, and even host debates like “What constitutes art?” and “The Integrity of Artistic Intent vs. Public Reception.” It’s designed to be accessible for everyone, from theory nerds and casual musicians to people who just want to learn something new. This is a podcast for YOU, and for everyone with any interest in music whatsoever! This is a whole new learning curve, and one I’m excited to work through! Click below and enjoy the first episode all on the interesting role of Silence in musical works, film, and video games! Much love to all of you! Stay safe! <3
